David Levi is the President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of GrowthWorks Ltd. and its affiliates including GrowthWorks Capital*. David has grown assets under management to approximately $1 billion, including $700 million in RVCs for GrowthWorks Capital, the second largest manager of labour-sponsored investment funds in Canada. In January 1992 David started the Working Opportunity Fund, BC's original labour-sponsored investment fund, which has grown to $270 million in assets. The fund has invested over $530 million in more than 120 growth-oriented, entrepreneurial BC companies.
GrowthWorks was founded by David in January 1999 and has quickly grown to be a leading venture capital fund manager, having seven offices and six venture capital funds under management which have made investments in over 200 companies across the country. In 2009, GrowthWorks acquired the Mavrix group of mutual funds. GrowthWorks is also one of the largest venture capital investors in "green technology" companies in Canada.
In addition to his entrepreneurship and strategic leadership, David has over 13 years of investment management experience and an in-depth knowledge of the brokerage community, having previously been chair of VanCity Credit Union and Vice-President of Broker Services at C.M. Oliver
